Sophie Ngo-Diep joined EPIM as Programme Manager in September 2016. Previously, Sophie was the Regional Network Developer and Funding Coordinator of the Migration and Development Civil Society (MADE) programme led by the International Catholic Migration Commission (ICMC). As such, she acted as a bridge-builder between African and European civil society actors in the area of migration and development and promoted Africa-EU joint advocacy in that field. Prior to joining the MADE team, she worked for 3 years on refugee resettlement and integration at ICMC Europe. She co-authored publications such as “Welcome to Europe! A comprehensive guide to resettlement” (2013) and “Diaspora and migrant voices: Deconstructing 10 myths about migration and development” (2015).
Prior to joining ICMC in 2011, Sophie served as Human Rights and Political Affairs Assistant at the EU Delegation to Cambodia. As a volunteer for the Belgian Red Cross, she participated in the creation of Espace Migrants, a place aimed at welcoming and informing migrants about their rights. She holds a Master of Arts in Political Science from University Pantheon Sorbonne, a Master of Arts in European Policies and Public Affairs from Sciences Po Strasbourg and a Degree in Applied Economics and Management from University Paris-Dauphine.
